Births, Birthdays, Weddings and More

In the last 10 days we have celebrated the birth of our 5th grandchild, the 5th birthday of our 1st grandchild, the wedding of a nephew and time with family we haven't seen in a long time. I will just post a few pictures to show how great these past several days have been.

May 16th

Brooklyn is very proud of her new "sissy" and loves to hold her, kiss her and hug her. My camera was acting up again so I don't have many good pictures of Hadley yet. My plan is to get a new camera as soon as possible.

Evan wanted Grammy to make a Scooby Do cake this year. Mommy made the "bone" cookies and I made the cake. His 5th birthday party was a big success..... only missing cousin Brooklyn but she was getting to know her new sister.

Kayleigh loves to ham it up anytime you put a camera in front of her. This picture is from my cell phone while we were eating at Sanford's. It is a little dark and grainy but a good picture in spite of it.

Keira was really having a good time at Sanford's too. She thought she was a pretty big girl wearing that silly hat. She is almost 8 months old now so she is growing up fast.

We stayed with my sister this weekend because she only lives 20 miles from where David and Megan got married. I haven't seen her since last summer so it was great to have a few days. We spent the morning before the wedding helping her paint the livingroom and dining room (also the kitchen which was an after thought). In this picture of Gary he is standing on a ladder in the stairwell to reach the high spots I couldn't get. Dustin did most of that area but I was doing the trim and just couldn't quite reach. I think it turned out really pretty with two walls dark sage green and two walls light sage green. She is getting new furniture next week and the paint is supposed to match.

This is David and Megan beginning their life together.

David's family. Sarah, Norm with one of the twins, Cindy, Megan, David, Tim with the other twin, Cassie, Carrie and Lindsey.

Two people we were really glad to see. They were able to make arrangements to fly out for the wedding. We hadn't seen Harry and Minnie since last summer either. They are going to spend a few days with Adeline and then go up north to see her other sister for a few days.

This is my sister's new "granddog". She is a minature long haired dashound and is 8 weeks old. Her name is Camie and she was sure full of fun and energy. They are trying to potty train her and it was a full time job for all of us this weekend.

I didn't get pictures of my brother but he met us for supper the first night we were there and then he showed us where he works. It was great to see him again and really facinating to see what he does for a living. He works for a company that builds machines that destroy sensitive computer data. They use very powerful magnets put together in a certain way so that when they run the data through the machine it erases it entirely from the disk or tape or whatever other kind of media they are using.

Breakfast before we headed back home today. There was a quite a storm last night where we stayed but the sun was shining this morning. We saw lots of tree branches down all over town as we were driving away. We hit rain again about 60 miles from home and tonight it is still raining. Maybe this is the end of the drought that has plagued us for so long.

Today is Memorial Day and we drove past lots of cemeterys on our way home. It was beautiful to see so many flags flying and flowers decorating each place we went by. We can be so thankful for the freedoms we enjoy in this country because of all those who were willing to fight for that freedom. Seeing all those hundreds of red, white and blue flags flying today was really a grand thing.
